It appears that Apple has amended its ongoing lawsuit against Motorola this week, adding 12 more alleged patent violations, bringing the total to 24.
In their own suit, Motorola says Apple has infringed on 18 of their patents.
Motorola sued Apple in October, just days before Apple sued HTC for patent violations. HTC and Motorola sell the most popular Android smartphones.
At the time, Apple CEO Steve Jobs said: “We can sit by and watch competitors steal our patented inventions, or we can do something about it. We’ve decided to do something about it.”
The patents relate to 3G, GPRS, 802.11 wireless and antenna design, and OS user interfaces.
Since 2009, Apple has been sued 27 times over alleged patent violations.

Apple CEO Steve Jobs has responded to the current freeze on Meizu M8 sales, accusing the company of blatant theft.
In an email response, Jobs responded to “why?” by saying, “because they stole our ideas and intellectual property.”
The Chinese Intellectual Property Office halted M8 production and all marketing recently, and many were curious why.
Meizu’s M8 is a touchscreen multimedia/smartphone device that runs on Windows Mobile 6.
From an aesthetic standpoint, the device looks very much like an iPhone 3GS.
Meizu’s upcoming M9 has a different design and will use a customized Android operating system. It may turn out that Meizu just lets the M8 die as the M9 will be released in December.

SPA! magazine, a Japanese tabloid, recently wrote a report on Apple CEO Steve Jobs claiming that Jobs would never return to Japan after airport officials would not allow him on his private plane with a luggage bag full of “ninja” throwing stars.
Going through a standard security scan at the Kansai International Airport in Japan, security detected a number of throwing stars in Job’s carry-on luggage.
When the stars were taken away, Jobs angrily told officials he would never return to Japan, and that it didn’t make sense that Jobs would try to hijack his own plane, especially with throwing stars.
Apple has made sure to dismiss the story today, saying: “Steve did visit Japan this summer for a vacation in Kyoto, but the incidents described at the airport are pure fiction. Steve had a great time and hopes to visit Japan again soon.”
A spokesperson at the Kansai airport did confirm that a passenger in a private plane was stopped in late July for carrying throwing stars and other knives but the passenger was not identified.
