Following the industry’s recent push into 3D, Roxio’s latest Creator software bundle gives users the chance to convert their 2D photos and videos into 3D, as well as manage and edit 3D content.
Consumers can import files from 3D cameras and camcorders, edit the video, save it to a number of popular formats and finally burn it to DVD, or Blu-ray if you have the proper hardware.
If you have a large collection of 2D video and photos (like everyone does), you can convert it over to 3D using a few clicks.
Gizmodo reviewed that section of the software and had this to say: “The standard amateur 3D rules apply—things work best when you leave a good distance between you and your subject; when there’s a well-defined foreground, midground, and background, etc.—but on some of the examples I saw, there was a decent 3D effect (on others it was less successful, but as always, practice makes perfect).”
Outside of the new 3D upgrades, Creator still allows for management, editing and sharing of a variety of file formats.

This weekend, during the Star Wars Celebration V, Lucasfilm Ltd. and Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment announced that all six movies from the popular Star Wars series will be released on Blu-ray, in the fall of 2011.
The films will come in The Star Wars Blu-ray Box Set.
Lucas did note that all the movies will be the “special editions,” since restoring the original versions (from the 80s) would “cost too much” and take too much time.
The box set will also include a plethora of documentaries, vintage behind-the-scenes moments, interviews, retrospectives and never-before-seen footage from the Lucasfilm archives.
“Blu-ray is the absolute best way to experience Star Wars at home – in pristine high definition,” adds George Lucas, creator of the Star Wars Saga. “The films have never looked or sounded better.”
As a teaser, the company showed off a deleted scene from “Return of the Jedi:”

Earlier in the month, Hulu announced the launch of Hulu Plus, a premium version of the popular streaming site that will cost $10 per month.
Buyers of the subscription get expanded content, and the ability to play the shows on their HDTVs, Blu-ray players, Xbox 360 (with Gold subscription), PS3 and iPad and iPhone.
Hulu Plus gives users season passes for most current shows, which is a massive improvement from only being able to watch the trailing five episodes of a given show. You will also be able to watch back seasons of the shows.
Sony has announced today that the PS3 will be the only console with the ability to stream Hulu Plus in 2010, and select users will be given the ability within weeks.
If you have a PlayStation Plus subscription, you may be sent an invite to test out Hulu Plus.
All users will be given the ability within a few months.
