Convert Youtube or Google videos - I will show you how to download video content from numerous sites( youtube, Google Video, etc) and convert it using two methods to iPod format files.
It is pretty simple once you get the hang of it.
1. Using free online converter
The first method is using a website to convert the media files. This is good for you when you only have one file to convert or you can’t install the programs necessary for conversion.Convert Youtube videos
My favorite is zamzar converter.
You don’t even need to download the video to your computer. Enter the URL of the video to the box, choose the format to convert to (iPod accepts mp4 video. So choose the format “mp4”) and enter your email address , then click “convert”. The output file will be sent to your mailbox.
Another one I like is media convert. But you can not convert the large video files using free online converters. It is up to 100MB. And the quality of the output files is so so.
2. Using video converter for mac
The Second Method is using free video converter software.
For this you need the following:
A video to download.

A few weeks ago, my niece needed to prepare a presentation for her college. She didn’t want to create another boring PowerPoint slideshow, so she decided to spice it up with some videos from YouTube.
So, she came to me (she knows I’m a technology geek, so I should know the answer), and asked: How do I download YouTube videos to my computer?
At first, I thought it would be simple. But when I tried, I was stunned. You can convert YouTube videos as much as you want, but there is no “Download” button anywhere! They just didn’t provide any way to download these videos.
I started asking in forums, and soon found out that many people had the same problem as me. Then I thought — why not find a way to download these videos so that everyone benefits?
I needed to hurry, because the presentation had to be ready in a week. It took me three nights to figure out how to do it, but, well, I’m a geek anyway, so it was fun After three nights of thinking and programming, I came up with my own YouTube video downloader!
But downloading the video does not suffice. If you are familiar with sites like YouTube, you might know that the videos are stored there in a so-called “Flash Video Format” (FLV).
They are not AVI or MPEG files, so you can’t do anything with them! You cannot play them in Media Player, you cannot embed them in your PowerPoint presentation, you practically cannot do anything. That’s why my software not only convert YouTube videos, but converts them to many useful formats as well!

Hat tip to Eazy for requesting a quick tutorial on snagging videos directly from YouTube.
For the uninitiated, YouTube is the Flickr of online video sharing. If you haven’t had a chance to check the service, do so right now. As requested, the following tutorial will assist in download youtube video files from the YouTube video sharing service. The following tutorial assumes that you currently have the Firefox browser, Greasemonkey extension, and VLC media player installed.Download youtube video
Navigate to YouTube.com and locate a video. For this particular tutorial, I am going to download “the Story about Suzuki and the dog“.
In the save file prompt, you will notice that the file is titled get_video.php. Title the video accordingly and change the extension from PHP to FLV [essential that step]. Select ‘Save’ and the Flash video file will be downloaded to your desktop.
While dedicated FLV video players are available, the VLC media player is capable of FLV playback.
In order to keep the process as simple as possible, we’re going to let the Greasemonkey extension do the dirty work. If you have not yet installed the Greasemonkey extension, do so now Firefox 1.5 users must download 0.6.4. You’ll need to install the following Greasemonkey userscript in order to continue: YouTube To Me. You will also find a handy userscript for download videos directly from Google Video.
Once the page has loaded, you should see a red bar towards the top of the page spanning the full width of the browser. In the center of this bar are the words ‘”Save as” to download Flash video’. Right-click on the link and select “Save as…” from the contextual menu.
