Microsoft has confirmed a new Xbox 360 Pro bundle for Europe today that will play to one of the system’s biggest strengths, its blockbuster Halo franchise.
Beginning on February 29th the new “Best of Halo” Xbox 360 Pro Bundle will go on sale around Europe with “Halo Wars”, “Halo 3″, and an Xbox 360 Pro video game system plus a wireless controller. The suggested retail price is €269.
The “Halo” franchise, now in its fourth installment, is a billion dollar franchise and is an Xbox exclusive. Halo 3, released last year, made over $300 million USD in sales in its first week of release and was even blamed for Hollywood’s poor showing in October.
The bundle will be available in Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Greece, Slovakia, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Republic of Hungary, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland.

Google’s Android team has announced that they will begin selling the unlocked Android Dev Phone 1 for $399 USD. The mobile phone will be the first Android-based phone to be both SIM-unlocked and hardware-unlocked and available to the public.
Google created the Linux-based OS to compete against other mobile operating systems such as Microsoft Windows Mobile, Nokia Symbian, Apple’s iPhone and RIM.
The move should prompt extra sales to consumers who do not want to buy the T-Mobile-locked G1.
The unit will be available in the US, UK, Germany, Japan, India, Canada, France, Taiwan, Spain, Australia, Singapore, Switzerland, Netherlands, Austria, Sweden, Finland, Poland, and Hungary and will work with any GSM carrier.

The IFPI (International Federation of the Phonographic Industry) has announced that they have successfully raided two servers in Hungary that were home to the very popular music release group RAGEMP3.
The announcement also said that the raid disrupted another music release group, XXL. The raid was a joint action by the IFPI, Hungarian police, and ProArt (the local copyright traffic police).
No arrests have been made and the announcement said nothing about any long term consequences for the release groups. Most likely the organizations are nowhere near decimated and its possible that the servers were not the only ones used by the groups.
The release groups, otherwise known as top sites, are “the top tier hierarchy of the online distribution world.” It is where releases begin and the point from which information “trickles” down to torrent sites, newsgroups, Warez forums and finally P2P.
