Intel has launched a dedicated App Store for netbooks this week, 8 months after showing off the beta at the CES event.
Dubbed AppUp, the beta is now open to everyone.
The store is compatible with all Windows 7, Windows XP and Moblin netbooks.
To download the main AppUp Center, you can visit AppUp.com or BestBuy.com.
Asus says their netbooks will come preloaded with an Asus-specific version starting this month.
The AppUp store, just like the Android Market and Apple App Store, will offer paid and free apps for news, weather, multimedia, productivity, social networking and more.
So far, Adobe, Accuweather, Barnes & Noble, Funkitron, Gibson Guitars, iWin, Kaplan, KONAMI, and Lifetime have submitted apps.

Thanks to a new cryptic splash screen posted on the Konami website, the Internet is abuzz with rumors that the blockbuster smash hit game Metal Gear Solid is headed to the Xbox 360 or possibly even the Wii.
The splash screen shows off green symbols and a seemingly cryptic math equation. (A screenshot is posted after the article)
Although it is clear that a new project is in the works, it remains a curiosity as to whether the new project will be headed to a new console or whether MGS 4 will get its much hoped-for Xbox 360 debut. The game is a PlayStation 3 exclusive currently.
Another promising argument is that the game could be headed to the iPod Touch or the Nintendo DSi.
It would be inappropriate at this time to make any guarantees as to what the message means but it is very interesting to say the least. We will keep you updated.

Sony Computer Entertainment America has revealed that a new PlayStation 3 SKU will be hitting retail shelves to accompany the release of Konami’s Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.
The new bundle will have a “gunmetal grey” colorway console, a copy of the game, and “very, very Limited edition” packaging, according to Sony.
Besides the latest bundle, Sony will also be resurrecting the 80GB PS3 for an MGS4 bundle and that bundle will include a PS3 DualShock 3 controller and the game.
As another added incentive, consumers that pre-order the game will receive a free Metal Gear Saga Vol. 2 DVD and “a voucher for access to the Metal Gear Online beta trials.”
