A look at the minimum system requirements for the upcoming blockbuster Just Cause 2 shows that the title won’t work on installations of Windows XP. This would represent one of the first high profile releases not to be supported by the still-popular Microsoft operating system. The requirements specifies that an operating system newer than XP is required, and provides a hint why.
The game requires at least DirectX 10. Windows XP can only officially go as far as DirectX 9, meaning that gamers would need to be using Windows Vista or Windows 7 to play the game. A recent hardware/software survey from Steam showed that 42.15 percent of its users were in fact still running the Windows XP operating system, although Windows 7 was becoming popular very fast.
Of course, there have been several methods used to install DirectX 10 on Windows XP since it was launched, none of which are supported by Microsoft and several of which have no support from their original authors either. So maybe it is “technically” possible to run it on Windows XP, but it is a shame that users should have to install a hacked DirectX 10 package and probably patch the game files themselves to play it on Windows XP.

Amazon.com incorrectly lists XP as supported in search results.

According to a new Twitter post, it appears Apple has dropped the space from the iPhone 3G S making it the simpler 3GS (no space).
This is not earth shattering news, obviously, but it is a welcome move to the tons of journalists out there right now which have been somewhat confused by the naming scheme.
Apple’s Greg Joswiak says it is now 3GS however, which should make for added confusion when trying to write about multiple iPhone 3Gs (lower case S).

The world’s possibly worst kept secret, the upcoming Sony PSP Go, has been leaked today via video, showing off the design of the handheld.
John Koller, director of hardware marketing at Sony America, speaks during the video and notes that the differences between the new PSP and the older slim PSP-3000 model are “on-board memory, the flash memory, and 16 gigs of space. There’s Bluetooth on board as well, so you can use a Bluetooth headset, and you can actually tether it to your cell phone as well. But ultimately, it’s the portability. Since you can bring all that content with you in a smaller form factor, you’ve got the most immersive games to play, and now you’ve got a smaller unit to do it with.”
It is unclear whether the handheld will remove the bulky UMD drive, but it is clear Sony is moving its emphasis towards downloadable games and movie content.
