Apple has sued Samsung this week, accusing its rival of “copying” iOS devices when creating its Galaxy line of tablets and phones.
The lawsuit alleges Samsung violates many Apple patents and trademarks relating to design features.
Samsung says it will actively respond to the suit and the accusation that it “blatantly copied” Apple gadgets.
Apple’s suit is over 16 different claims “including unjust enrichment, trademark infringement” and 10 patent claims.
Samsung’s Galaxy Tab and Galaxy S devices have all sold well in the United States, and feature Android software.

LG has filed a complaint with the U.S. International Trade Commission this week, asking the ITC to block the import of the Sony PlayStation 3.
The company is claiming that the Blu-ray drive in every PS3 console violates multiple LG patents.
Sony, Sony Corporation of America, Sony Electronics, Sony Computer Entertainment and Sony Computer Entertainment America are all cited in the complaint, says Cnet.
The patents in question relate to “the way a Blu-ray player reproduces data from a Blu-ray disc” and how it “reproduces multiple data streams by way of multiple camera angles.”
Finally, LG says Sony is violating a patent relating to the display of subtitles in Blu-ray films.
LG’s choice, over 1500 days after the PS3 launched in the U.S., seems like a direct retaliation for Sony’s complaint filed with the ITC late last year over patent violations in mobile phones.

It appears that Apple has amended its ongoing lawsuit against Motorola this week, adding 12 more alleged patent violations, bringing the total to 24.
In their own suit, Motorola says Apple has infringed on 18 of their patents.
Motorola sued Apple in October, just days before Apple sued HTC for patent violations. HTC and Motorola sell the most popular Android smartphones.
At the time, Apple CEO Steve Jobs said: “We can sit by and watch competitors steal our patented inventions, or we can do something about it. We’ve decided to do something about it.”
The patents relate to 3G, GPRS, 802.11 wireless and antenna design, and OS user interfaces.
Since 2009, Apple has been sued 27 times over alleged patent violations.
