The SkyFire browser has been accepted into the iOS App Store today, finally giving million of users a chance to watch Flash videos on their devices.
Skyfire 2.0 will go on sale in the App Store tomorrow morning with a price tag of $2.99.
Lack of Flash has been one of the largest drawbacks of owning an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch, especially since over 75 percent of online videos are encoded with the standard.
Apple CEO Steve Jobs has made it abundantly clear, however, that native Flash will not be supported on Apple devices, ever, as they kill battery life and generally perform poorly.
Skyfire gets around this ban by taking Flash video, renders and translates it to HTML5 and redisplays it, showing users a thumbnail they can click to play the video.
“We will attack those pesky blue Flash error messages,” added CEO Jeffrey Glueck.
It is important to note, also, that over 50 percent of videos online are also encoded with HTML5.

The latest rumor circulating this weekend is that the still unconfirmed 11.6-inch MacBook Air will be launched during Apple’s October 20 event.
Sources have leaked specs today, as well, saying most notably that the computer will use a new type of SSD for storage instead of the 1.8-inch enclosed drive used in current models.
The “SSD Card” will resemble a stick of RAM but will be almost impossible for users to replace. It will also take up much less space.
There are already a few notebooks, netbooks and embedded devices that use similar sticks, such as SanDisk’s pSSD but this should be the first move for the SSD into ultraportables.
Rumored processor is an Intel Core i5.
Aesthetically, the new model will resemble the current 13.3 inch model but be “more wedge-shaped” including sharper edges.
Most importantly, Apple will “almost certainly” drop the price “significantly” under the MacBook Air’s current $1500 price tag.

Wal-Mart has started pre-orders on a new Microsoft Kinect bundle today, adding more question marks to the still unofficial price tag on the system.
Priced at $200, consumers get the Kinect system, a $30 Wal-Mart eGift Card, and one of the launch titles.
Those titles (Sports is pictured) are Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part One, Dance Central, Joy Ride, Kinectimals, Kinect Sports and Kinect Adventures.
You can also add an additional game for $50-60 if you want to get more for your new bundle.
The Microsoft Store has the system priced at $150, but with a note that price is still subject to change. GameStop and Amazon have similar pricing, and similar notices.
Wal-Mart’s latest deal is the most cost-effective, especially given the discount off the game and the addition of the gift card, but we will see if the price sticks when the device launches in early November.
