After over three years of release, the Nintendo Wii finally has a new colorway, a slick black headed to U.S. retail shelves on May 9th.
So far the date has been confirmed by Target and GameStop in the U.S., and confirmed for May 23rd in Canada by Future Shop.
The Wii itself will be completely identical to the white model currently available (minus the color, obviously) and will come bundled with a Wii remote, Wii Sports, Wii Sports Resort and a Wii MotionPlus for $199.
The black colorway has been available in Japan since late last year, and has sold pretty well.
Worldwide, Nintendo has sold 70 million Wii units.

Sony Computer Entertainment America CEO Jack Tretton has made it abundantly clear this weekend that the PlayStation 4 is not coming any time soon.
Tretton says the PS3 is only “in the first 25% to 30% of this generation,” meaning there is at least 6 more years before a PS4 is sitting on retail shelves.

“I would say we’re sitting in the catbird seat,” Tretton added, via CVG. “We’ve just passed the third year of the PlayStation 3 and we’re just hitting our stride. And I don’t think anyone is saying, ‘This is a five-year cycle; what’s new on the horizon?’ I can’t even imagine what can be done technically beyond the PlayStation 3 in the near future. A question I often get is when we are going to see PlayStation 4. When somebody can craft the technology that exceeds what we’re able to do on the PS3, but we are still just starting to harness it.”
Although not related, Tretton also said he expected God of War III sales to “blot out the sun.”

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has begun a new promotion to promote the upcoming Ghostbusters Blu-ray, allowing fans the chance to become “stars” of the BD-Live features on the disc.
The movie will hit retail shelves on June 16th.
The site GhostbustersIsHiring.com, was set up for the promotion and will incorporate fans of the movie into the Web content. Users can “submit personalized video of themselves applying for a job with the Ghostbusters team. Sony will select its favorite job applicants for eventual display within its BD Live network.”
Additionally, and possibly more notably, fans who upload their photos to the site will receive a $5 discount off the Blu-ray.
